Signing of Memorandum of Understanding Between Qudsona for Empowerment and the Union of Charitable Societies

Yesterday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Qudsona for Empowerment and Development, represented by its President, Prof. Imad Abu Kishek, and the Union of Charitable Societies in Jerusalem, represented by its President, Mr. Fouad Abdeen. The MoU aims to enhance cooperation and partnership in the fields of charity work and development.

The memorandum outlines collaboration in building the financial and administrative capacities of Jerusalem-based institutions and charities, developing tools for charity and development work in the city, and designing joint development and endowment programs to ensure the sustainability and growth of these organizations.

In his remarks, Prof. Abu Kishek welcomed the delegation from the Union of Charitable Societies, praising the Union's role as a unifying umbrella for charities in Jerusalem. He emphasized the importance of cooperation, coordination, and joint efforts to maximize the impact of their work in the city, thereby strengthening the resilience of Jerusalemites.

Prof. Abu Kishek also noted that, as part of Qudsona's new strategy, the organization seeks to build alliances with Jerusalem-based institutions and donors. He considered this partnership a key element of that strategy.

Mr. Fouad Abdeen, for his part, highlighted the significant role of Qudsona and Al-Quds University in Jerusalem, affirming the importance of this agreement in fostering collaboration and joint efforts to serve the city of Jerusalem and address the growing challenges faced by local institutions.

Mr. Youssef Qaray, Director General of the Union of Charitable Societies, presented an overview of the key challenges and issues facing charitable organizations in Jerusalem, stressing the need for viable solutions to ensure the continuity and development of their work in the city.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Hassan Dweik, Vice President of Al-Quds University; Ahmad Noubani, Acting Executive Director of Qudsona; legal advisor Mohammad Abu Tayeh; and Ahmed Hamo, Director of the Community Development Program.
