The Al-Quds Fund and Endowment of Jerusalem, and Al-Quds University honour the businessman Michel Al-Sayegh for his philanthropy and developmental work in the city of Jerusalem

The Al-Quds Fund and Endowment of Jerusalem, and Al-Quds University honoured the Palestinian-Jordanian businessman Mr. Michel Al-Sayegh, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment, in recognition of his philanthropic and humanitarian support, as well as his developmental work in the city of Jerusalem and Palestine as a whole. The honour was presented during a ceremony held at the main campus of the university, with the participation of Mr. Muneeb Al-Masri, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Box, the President of the Al-Quds University, Dr. Imad Abu Kashk, the Secretary-General of the Jerusalem Box and Waqf, and the Archbishop of Sebastia for the Greek Orthodox in Jerusalem, Archbishop Atallah Hanna. The event was attended by a gathering of dignitaries from Jerusalem.

Dr. Imad Abu Kashk opened the ceremony expressing his delight at honoring Mr. Michel Al-Sayegh, the Palestinian-Jordanian businessman, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment. He acknowledged Mr. Al-Sayegh's boundless support for the city of Jerusalem, its people, and its holy sites. He recalled numerous achievements and projects that Al-Sayegh had contributed through the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment, aligning with a call for nationalism towards the holy city and its institutions.

Dr. Abu Kashk announced the decision of the Al-Quds University's Board of Trustees to appoint Mr. Al-Sayegh as a member of the Board, welcoming him to the family of Jerusalem University's philanthropic contributors. He remarked, "We take pride in your joining the Jerusalem University family due to your contributions and your unwavering national compass that remains fixed on the holy city. We stand together for Jerusalem and to support its resilience."

Mr. Muneeb Al-Masri, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Box, emphasised that words fall short in describing his companion on this journey, businessman Michel Al-Sayegh. He praised the cooperative efforts since the establishment of the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment, as well as Al-Sayegh's charitable and humanitarian initiatives for the people of Jerusalem and its institutions.

Mr. Al-Masri underscored that the name of Jerusalem is sacred to him, affirming that their support for the holy city will not cease. He pledged to continue their assistance, as Jerusalem remains the eternal capital of Palestine. He extended his gratitude to all who contributed to honouring Mr. Al-Sayegh and his family on this special day.

Archbishop Atallah Hanna stated, "Today we gather to honour a personality known for his giving, support, and dedication to Jerusalem. Mr. Michel is a patriotic voice, an exceptional defender of Jerusalem and Palestine, with numerous virtues." He added, "Honouring Al-Sayegh means honouring a large segment of our people who are unwavering in their commitment to Jerusalem."

He delivered a message to society, emphasising the necessity of unity among Muslims and Christians to confront Israeli attacks and defend their land, highlighting that the fruit of their efforts is freedom, and they must remain faithful to their cause.

Mr. Michel Al-Sayegh, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment , expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment, especially to Mr. Muneeb Al-Masri, and to Al-Quds Universityand its President, Dr. Imad Abu Kashk, for the honour. He expressed his pride in this special day, stressing that his actions are his duty as a Palestinian. He pledged to remain loyal to Palestine, Jerusalem, its people, and its institutions, offering his unwavering support.

Mr. Taher Dissi, CEO of the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment, presented an overview of Michel Al-Sayegh's life, work, accomplishments, and contributions to Jerusalem, its institutions, and the Fund and Endowment. He highlighted the partnership with Mr. Muneeb Al-Masri, forming a humanitarian and developmental team in the city. Dissi thanked all who participated in the tribute.

The ceremony concluded with the honouring of Mr. Michel Al-Sayegh by the Al-Quds Fund and Endowment, the Al-Quds University, the Burj Al-Luqluq Society, and the Al-Hasad School under the Girls' Home Society.

Throughout the event, a short film showcased Mr. Michel Al-Sayegh's life, achievements, and work. It's worth noting that Al-Sayegh is the owner of the well-known company National Paints. He also represents the Commercial Bank of Jordan and has held several positions within the Orthodox Association and various other roles.
